HI - I am just looking for some advice regarding the service and maintenance of portable vehicle container ramps for use by fork lifts to load containers.  I understand the PUWER requirement regarding maintenance but just wondered if the  needed to be inspected under LOLER too?  It is only raised and lowered into position prior to a fork lift truck and personnel accessing it.  It is not used for lifting per se.

We are due to install this equipment at our new site in a few months time and are trying to get maintenance schedules in place.  Can anyone advise if we need to have a LOLER inspection on this equipment and how often?

Hi - I assume you're talking about mobile yard ramps ?  If so, no, LOLER doesn't apply to them.
