Hi all

Woud a mansafe system e:g eye botls/latchways etc come under LOLER? 

Alos would it reequire a 6mth inspection ? I've been reading it's 12mths at least but i would have though 6mths

There is a bit of a gray area on thos one...if you are lifting people directly using the equipment then 6 moths if not 12..

it was more for work restraint sytems rather than lifting. I would gor for 6mths due to weather exposure etc

Well ours is on a contract and is every 6 months.  The contract is negotiated centrally and not by this site and I have to say that someone has gone a bit doollally as this year it has been done every 3 months!!

No. Not LOLER. Not lifting equipment if using for restraint. Or arrest for that matter. So no set period for 'thorough examination' whatsoever.

However, PUWER obvously still applies so requirements do exist for inspection as you've indicated. The frequency is not specified in statute other than by reference to how quickly deterioration is likely to give risk to significant risk. From recollection the British Standard (EN795?) suggests an inspection period of at least 12 months.
