Good afternoon all, I hope you are all well.
Apologies if this topic has been already discussed however, I had a quick look and was unable to find anything. I am asking if anyone could enlighten me on the length of time, relevant documents should be retained after a project has been completed and in particular Health & Safety documents.
I am not concerned with anything that is left with or stays with the completed project such as the H&S File but rather information that has been gathered during the build such as sign in/out register, records of induction, contractors RAM's, scaffold inspections, accident/incident reports, inspection reports, toolbox talks, etc,etc,etc.... I could go on and on with the reports, files and lists generated and amount of paperwork, which is not all, if any retained electronically! Ultimately, I have a couple of file boxes from an historic site which I would like to know what to save as evidence if ever required and what can be responsibly destroyed/discarded. This will also help to develop a "process" - another form... to follow for current contracts on their completion. Thoughts and guidance would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance... Andy

3 years is the time period in which someone can make a claim for personal injury, against which these records might form part of the defence. Unless of course that injury only becomes apparent later, as with disease caused by asbestos.
