I am looking for some professional input from those with fire modelling knowledge and experience.

I am currently working on a large construction project, the building is very large (industrial) with ceiling height at 26 metres. I have fire behaviour experience in abundance however I do not have any fire modelling experience, what are the pro's and con's of fire modelling. I have the IFE fire modelling flow chart but I would like to speak with somebody with the hands on experience.

This is a specialist area so I would not try it on your own - you need a specialiast Safety case engineer or similar this is usually a PHD [ usually a science + maths/physics/chemistry ] type who specialises in such areas and not a fire officer

Pros are many e.g. it can give accurately predicted collapse situations in given fire circumstances so design and build types can accopunt for this in their systems etc

Cons: Get it wrong and its your head
