Can anyone give me some advice on what insurances I will need to work as a consultant? I know I need PI but was wondering about Pub Lia and Employers Lia? I will be a one man band shall we say working as a limited company.
Thanks in advance
Dave

Not being a consultant myself there may be more responses from them.
What type of consulting are you planning? Just that if it's H&S (general) it's normal practice to understand the law regarding The Employers' Liability (Compulsory Insurance) Act 1969?
Public liability insurance would cover you regarding cover should any legal fees and expenses which result from any claim by a third party (i.e. damage or injury to anyone & property whilst on their premises)

Dave,
All good advice.
Additionally, don't forget to amend your motor insurance to include Class One business use, as your journeys will no longer arguably be commuting. I'm assuming you've only recently decided to go self-employed?
Finally, do you have any tools, samples, laptop, equipment, etc? You might wish to arrange some business cover on this equipment - your home insurance will exclude equipment used for business purposes.
