Rank: Forum user		Hi, Definition of "Competent Person" can be found in BS7671. I believe that the term "Appointed Person" is now known as "Authorised Person" but not sure if any legislation actually defines it. There would appear to be 2 types in the electrical world - AP(LV) and AP(HV). Sorry can't be more help at this time of night but it might be worth contacting the IET or JIB for an answer?
