Info required I have been asked by the main contractor to supply my CV (H&S Manager) Directors CV and operatives CV It has also been asked as a PQQ Whilst I have supplied mine for various main contractors the directors are asking whether data protection comes into it? I would just leave off there home address and telephone number Or is there a bag of worms in the data protection act Any help with clarifying this would help Thanks Alan

In my consultant days we used to get these requests quite a bit as we acted as the companies competent person etc. We all had a Professional CV which just had experience, qualifications past employers etc but no personal details. No issue with Data Protection.

There is no Data Protection issue unless the information is being used for something it was not supplied for. for example you supply a cv for tender work and the organisation sell the information on to someone else who use it to mail you adverts or marketing material. As long as the staff are aware (as in my organisation) that cv's are needed for tender purposes and the cv's are professional in terms of having none pertinant information removed that have no bearing on competence (hobbies/date of birth/home address/siblings etc) removed then there is no issue whatsoever. PS names do not have to be removed - client want to see names and where they sit in an organogram a nameless cv would be no use.
