What would be the most suitable gloves for sorting through recycled waste i.e. kerbside collections. Anybody in the recycle industry come across the bees knees of gloves for this to protect against e.g. cans - broken glass - hyperdermic needles

thanks

Hi Martin,

That would depend on the type of waste etc, there are plenty of gloves at a range of prices, you could google anti-syringe gloves, some people prefer turtleskin but they can be pricey.

Hyperdermic needles: As far as I know it there are no gloves on the market that will provide both the protection and the dexterity needed to protect against 'sharps'

A suitable & sufficient PPE/MHSW combined RA [with its suitable JSA to support it etc] will give U your answers e.g. Do not physically touch any waste with the hand, provide distance tools to pick up waste, use magnets for carbon metals etc; the list goes on & on

Best of luck
