Link on the BBC News website today relating to insurers having lost a legal bid to overturn a law in Scotland which gives victims of an asbestos-related illness the right to claim damages.

Companies (and their insurers) have been running away from this issue for too long now, it's about time the tide started turning in favour of victims. No one is going to tell me that although pleural plaques are deemed to be benign that other asbestos related illness will not follow in due course. Just by having pleural plaques proves exposure has happened. Exposure and it's resultant repercussions are a terrible thing and someone needs to be held accountable.

I am not a great fan of a law made by an elected Parliament being overturned by a court at the behest of an insurance company that is motivated by profit. So well done Scotland.
