Hi, does anyone know if there is such a thing as a type of training in strategic planning for health and safety?

Thanks

'Strategic planning' normally requires 'education' and 'development' about appreciating and conducting processes concerned with the business goals, culture, resource levels and accountability of an organisation.

It is delivered at leading management development centres (e.g. Ashridge, Henley, Roffey Park) and within MBA programmes.

There's no reason why you can't apply strategic planning to health and safety; as long as you do it well, it's likely to achieve positive results over time.

Why do you ask?

Our business has gone through some major changes and we now have to put together a business plan for the next 5 and 30 years!

My Director has asked that I look at some training on how to think more strategically rather than just the normal annual h&s plan stuff.

To be honest, I have no idea where to start! Any hints or ideas of what to do or anyone that can help would be great.

I am currently studying for an MSc (distance learning) but do not feel like the course is covering this part.
