A new one on me so any advice form those who may work with this would be gratefully received.

Have had today an incident report where IP handled a fibre optic lamp and has ended up with very fine "splinters" in the fingers and hand as a result of "apparent" break down of the open end of the fibre.

Are there any particular health risks that I should be mindful of bearing in mind that these "splinters" are minute. Many thanks.

I think the most serious could be breathing in any broken filaments, which could lacerate the alveoli in the lungs.
