Apologies if this has been covered before, but has anyone got access to a cost benefit analysis of implementing OSHAS 18001 that they would be willing to share? I appreciate that the CBA would need to be tailored to the relevant business and its circumstances, but any help would be great.

Judging by the lack of a response the answer is - no. I'm not really sure how you would apply CBA to implementing 18001. Applying CBA is also problematic to the simplest of equations. The cost would depend on a number of variables ie industry, size and type of organisation, whether other ISO standards are in place and so on. Most organisations implement 18001 in order to make their organisation desirable to clients in a very competitive market. Hence in measuring CBA you would surely have to look at the order book before and after, possibly several years after, as well as monitoring the cost of continued accreditation?

Depending on what data you actually have, you may be able to select one or more of several statistical techniques to demonstrate patterns of costs and benefits. At the same time, unless you understand that statistical concepts involved, the risk of confusion or worse would be signficant.
If you don't want to learn the relevant statistical techniques, I'd be pleased to let you have details of a few excellent texts on business and economic statistical methods which could well be worth learning about if you want to give a lead on business strategy which CBA can support. You can reach me on 020 8654 0808 or leave a message there if I'm not free to speak.
