What permits or licences does an organisation need for general waste being produced and going into a skip that is then collected periodically from a premises.
A duty of care waste transfer note is being formulated when the skip is full and being taken away by the skip hire company.....do we need anything else?

Hi Zoltangera
You can set up an annual Transfer Note with you waste company (Biffa etc) so if its non hazardous, thats pretty much all you need to do:
Have a look at the environmental agency website for more info:

Remember with Annual Transfer Notes you will need to project all types of waste that is likely to be deposited in the year - it is NOT an offence for all types not to be in every skip but is an offfence to deposit anything that is not on the TN. You do need to keep records of the number of skips removed against each annual note. This is easier than checking that every waste type deposited in any one skip is listed on the TN - you should be using the European Waste Catalogue to identify individual waste streams. It also is easier to ensure that the TN is fully compliant. Records are generally required to be kept for 2 years in all cases.
Please try to avoid using the general categories as there are inspectors who see this as inaccurate.
