The deadline for responses to the HSE's Consultation on proposed changes to RIDDOR is very near (closes 9th May). http://www.hse.gov.uk/consult/condocs/cd233.htm Why is Ron reminding us about that then? Because he has an axe to grind! ;-) Note that the HSE's Consultation document acknowledges that adoption of these proposals will mean the UK will not be in a position to comply with what will shortly be a legal requirement to provide >3day figures to Eurostat. The CD goes on to suggest that this gap could be bridged by the provision of "synthetic estimates". Unbelievable. Further, given that there is an obvious political drive to implement ALL the recommendations in LY's Report, why discuss this incremental measure first, when the same Report proposes a wider review of RIDDOR in its entirety? One hopes this will not be the order in which the changes are implemented, but given the political pressures - who knows?

I did my bit when it was released. Youve just reminded me to claim my '1' point for CPD, thanks...
