Wouldn't like to say Seamus, anyone's guess. Causation looks slightly problematic but someone might argue that it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume occupational causation.

Wouldn't like to guess, and certainly the full facts of the case are not known to us, but purely on the basis of the report it would appear that measures were in place and that the employee had received information. Added to this is the leisure activities which could equally have exposed him to the tics as does the fact that he lives in the same area as them...
I wonder if he reported the tic bite whilst he was at work as soon as he received it, or waited until he got ill.........
