Hi All
prior to an occupational health visit I am about to conduct a personal ill health assessment
relating to tasks in the workplace.
the GP has stated light duties and a phased return to work, how do you carry out your assessment?
I intend to:
Firstly GP advice
Write the assessment (talk with) the employee
establish any restrictions to current capabilities in the job role
any other ideas? Guidance?
Cheers

Hi David - with the greatest respect are you not putting the cart before the horse? First step would be occ health referral then following this you will be able to establish what is able to be accomplished by the employee. Next would come the sit down and talk with the employee, then the assessment. Or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Please remember that most doctors are not occupational experts and their work/effect knowledge is limited but the gov expects them to be experts overnight so fit for work notes reflect this position - Just a comment
