Having read the HSE's risk assessment for call centres I am keen to identify suppliers of head sets that - reset the volume after each call - have accoustic shock protection Can anyone suggest any?
Also does anyone have any useful internet references to good head set design - there are so many sets out there I would like to get an overview on what the selection criteria are and what good maintenance looks like.
Thanks for your help

KieraK I used to look after several call centres and we used plantronics equipment, they were simply the best at that time and all sets had a built in limiter diode to prevent acoustic shock. You do not have to reset volume as this should be set by the wearer but have a noise limiter - the acoustic shock limetr is a seperate issue. You can also get HSL labs in to undertake a noise assessment once you have purchased the equipment - they use a manekin head arrangement. You can also get more information from the HSE contract research papers. Link below to plantronics - enjoy http://www.plantronics.c...center/UK_M12MX10_PS.pdf

I agree with the sugggested manufacturer. I have looked after several call centres and found plantronics the best.
Once you have the headsets, do not forget the cleaning and repair factor. When ordering add extra ear pads as these are the heavy wear element.
