Dear Forum Members, You might be of great help to me. I am looking for recently retired HSE inspectors who might be interested to participate to a face to face or phone interview for my PhD research project.
IOSH forum moderators have given me the authorisation to create this post.
My name is Diego Canciani and I am a PhD student at London South Bank University. I am conducting a research project comparing the opinions and ideas of health and safety inspectors on occupational health and safety enforcement policies in England and Italy. At the moment I am in the process of recruiting people for my field work, which consists of interviewing thirteen health and safety inspectors who have recently retired from the HSE.
Health and safety enforcement policies across Europe can vary greatly even though the legislation has somehow homogenised in the past decades. Every country has its own enforcement policies and institutional organisation. The policies adopted by inspectorates can have great affects on the level of compliance and incidents in nations. This research will contribute to the current literature available and will therefore help to increase the knowledge base on the subject.
The research is conducted following strict academic ethic codes and data protection guidelines and I will treat any personal information with confidentiality. More information is available for anyone who might be interested.
Please keep in mind that although I prefer to meet people face to face, I can also conduct the interview by phone.
If you are interested in taking part in the research, please send me a personal message through the forum messaging tool.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards,
Diego
