A bit of advice please.

We are looking to install a new interlock system to the gas supply feeding a commercial kitchen, is there any requirement, other than good practice to connect the interlock to the fire alarm which will shut down on fire alarm activation.

Not sure about requirements but some views on manual kill switches.

1) - take care with their siting. I've seen staff hang coats and bags off them, lounge against them while waiting for service. Can result in the isolation of the gas supply and interuption in service.

2) - Signage and staff training is normally absent from installations I have seen over the past 10 years or so. When I've asked staff what the purpose of the switch was, I've just been met with blank looks.
