Hi Learned friends I would just like your opinion on Pre-quals for councils. Obviously most of us working for companies have a pre-qual process in place to check the competence of the contractors/suppliers. With this in mind i am sure some of you have councils at times doing work for you for instance waste collection that they charge for. So basically have people pre-qualed them ? and do they think its required ? Alan

Councils and their offspring e.g. ALMOS's etc are no different to others so pre qual them. However they may not like it but they should have the systems etc in place just like everybody else! If U want more info talk to the council concerned via their in-house H&S team -if they still have people left!

Speaking as a Council Officer, I would hope that you would receive a Pre-Qual that was quite high scoring as they should be well versed in knowing what is expected.
