I am well aware that Goods Lifts should have a thorough inspection 12 monthly but i was just wondering how often most people have them serviced ?

Spud, it will depend on your contract with the lift company, normally a quarterly service is sufficient.
The annual inspection is done through your insurance company to ensure all the safety systems are working properly,they will also recommend any improvements that are needed for the lift to still conform.
A quarterly service should be sufficient, with a proper contract for breakdown repairs if and when needed.
