Did no one pick up on the JC column in the Sun on 7th May??? I quote an extract: "We often blame health and safety officials for the madness in our lives these days, but ultimately the fault lies with the lawyers. They're the ones who can stand there with a straight face and tell a judge that the conkers game should have been banned, and the school should have been shut and the teachers should have been on a playground awareness course. They're the villains. Not the health and safety wallahs who are employed simply to keep the ambulance chasers at bay." The piece was about a young girl who is suing the owner of a private swimming pool (allegedly) for not displaying signs forbidding diving at night or when the householders were away (which they were, apparently). Too much to hope perhaps?
