One of our empty buildings, no combustible items, had an electrical fault on a condenser which triggered the fire alarm and hence the brigade arrived. The condenser kept the large fridges running. The FRS called it a fire as there was colouration on some cabling.
The question is what is the corrective action?
The electrics though old are regularly checked as required by competent persons.
The fridges are now to be turned off
The only thing I can think of is to isolate the supply to the entire building based on a risk assessment, or not to isolate based on a risk assessment on the electrics. Anyone any further ideas

You could also ask the question if the refrigeration plant is required to be running when the building is empty e.g. For what purpose as also expense to maintain condenser and/or compressors etc..... Energy efficiency & environmental issues?
Also what is the business reason behind empty building? Is it awaiting potential tenant or a standby situation, either case the more systems shut down day to day the better in addition to fire risk so you could consider shutting off power supply to all or parts of the building?

SBH. RA for security ,integrity, insurance and economic business purposes will say keep electric on to power Fire alarm and security access systems, CCTV, security lighting etc
RA for electrics will say damaged or unmaontained electrics can cause fire and shock, turn it all off at mains.
Hence pragmatic action is turn off all unnecessary electrics, - including fridges, HVAC units, heaters, leave essentials on. Place notice on switchroom to say what has been done fro next occupant.
