CMIOSH looking to become Certified Safety Professional in US

Hi all. I am in the process of registering for the Comprehensive Practice Examination with the Board of Certified Safety Professionals in the US. I received a waiver on the Fundamentals examination due to my Chartered status with IOSH.
I am looking for advice on the best exam guide to use and how best to prepare for the exam? Is it worth getting the BCSP-published Self-Assessment Examination or are there better ones available? I would also love any tips from anyone who has studied for and sat the exam. I am an experienced Safety Professional working in Ireland but this type of process is totally new to me. So any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

CSP review: You might want to join American Society of Safety Professionals and look at Langois and Wiegand CSP review course.

Hello there,
I live in Canada, and have recently commenced my study program in preparation to write the CSP exam in the spring of 2012. I have done a fair amount of research into the various exam preparation tools that are out there, as well as spoken to colleagues at work who hold the CSP designation. The very first thing I would do is register with Bowen EHS for the free study questions http://www.bowenehs.com/...ee-study-questions.html. Bowen offers an online preparation course as well. Also check out Span Safety, they offer self-study workshops - http://www.spansafetywor...com/self-study-books.php
There are a number of good books available, particularly for the formulas that the commonly required for many CSP exam questions. I bought Edward W. Finucane's "Definitions, Conversions, and Calculations for Occupational Safety and Health Professionals" (Taylor & Francis) (ISBN 1-56670-640-8) Hardcover.
I think the BCSP self-assessment examinations are worth it as well; I have not got those (yet), but will likely do so later on. Since I live close to the U.S. border, I may take a classroom 3-4 day exam study course as well, since those are offered a few times a year here in the Pacific Northwest.
If you would like any more information, please feel free to email me. I have a number of contacts that are very familiar with the CSP exam study process, and may be able to provide you with some additional study reference suggestions.
Best Regards,
Bruce

Thanks for the info. I have signed up for the Bowen free study questions. Alot of the prep courses are expensive and will not help you learn the materials but will help you with the exam format. I think the only way is to study as much as the reference material as possible and complete sample questions. I would certainly like to keep in contact re exam preparation. Can you please send me you email address?
