Sprinklers are not my forte, but someone mentioned something today called LPCB registration. Has anyone else heard of this ? Is it mandatory to illustrate competence ? Does anyone know of other relevant accreditations ? Alan

LPCB is the Loss Prevention Certification Board, can't offer you any more than that, www.redbooklive.com is their website.

Also, have you tried the FPA for information on this?

Internationally, Factory Mutual operate their own approvals scheme, as do UL. For UK insurance acceptance, LPCB Red Book listings are the usual standard. Sprinkler companies will seek ISO9001 accreditation from LPCB.
