Good evening. Can anybody please inform me as to the legal requirement for safety checking a mobile compressor. (i am relating to the compressors used to power compressed air breakers). Question: Is there a legal requirement and if so, how often should the safety checks be carried out. Thankyou.

Under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000, a written scheme of examination (that also includes testing frequency by competent persons) is required for most pressure systems. Exempted systems are listed in the Regulations. Generally, only very small systems are exempted. http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/indg261.pdf
