Hi there everyone.

first post here and and avid reader. Im looking for some advice please as to my situation.

I am currently undertaking Msc in Environmental Health. Much as I a enjoying it, I am also very interested in the H&S side of things. ( there is some, but not loads of H&S in Environmental Health)I'm of the understanding that in order to become GradIOSh I need to study and pass a level 6 course. Is this correct ( ie Msc EH is not accepted as GradIOSH)

I understand that I can start now with the British Safety Council online that will cost me somewhere around 3k ( inc. exams, vat etc) Is this good value? I was hoping to do some of it alongside my current commitments. Would this be viable? I understand I have 5 years from the completion of the 1st module? Next year my Msc is only one taught day per week and placement will be over although I may look for a part time job also.

I guess I'm just asking whether this is a) the right way b) the cheapest way of getting to GradIOSH.

Sorry if I have rambled!

MissLB

Hi,

Not living in the UK I can't comment on which company is the best, but I will say that I am exploring the pursuit of an NEBOSH International OHS Diploma from here in Canada, and came across one of the approved NEBOSH service providers (ATM Safety) that appears to offer the program for 1,200, plus the enrolment, examination and assignment fees (another 450 in total or so.). That seems a good deal less than several other service providers.

I am curently enrolled in a Masters program, and intend to complete the course work for the Diploma at the same time. I think it is achievable...

Best of luck with your decision.

Hi MissLB; just check with IOSH to see if your course is on the list of approved courses for Grad status or
have a look at http://www.iosh.co.uk/me...ing_a_qualification.aspx
