Hi all

We are a construction company with UK and Republic of Ireland entities. We have first aiders employed
who have received training in both the UK and Ireland.

Scenario No. 1: We have a first aider who has completed an occupational first aid course in the UK (HSE Approved) who is required to work on an Irish site. Is the UK qualification recognised in Ireland???

Scenario No. 2: The reverse of the above. We have an employee who has completed an Irish (Fetac Level 5) Occ. First Aid qualification - is this recognised in the UK?

It's been very difficult to get a definitive answer to these questions. Has anyone got previous experience of this situation? I assume common sense would prevail and that both would be recognised. The syllabi (hope my latin plural is correct there) and requirements in both jurisdictions seem very similar?! The clearest information that I've found has been here: http://www.qualificationsrecognition.ie/uk.html

Thanks in advance.
