Good Morning Colleagues

I am trying to develop & implement COSHH Splilage procedures for a client , does anyone have a template form for a COSHH spiilage procedure 'generic' I can use, or ideally for the following the specific substances are Methanol , POTASSIUM HYDROXIDE, Ethanol & Diethyl ether.

Any assistance on the above matter will be very much appreciated

Kind Regards

Ian.

An important consideration is how much in total they could conceivably spill in one go. My reaction to spilling a teaspoonful is different from spilling a Winchester full, and different again from a lorry load.

If you look at the MSDS for common salt, sodium chloride, the spillage procedure detailed says nothing about throwing a pinch of it over your shoulder, and describes procedures that are compatible with dealing with a tankerload!

From my experience in the transport industry where many substances could spill I think a generic spillage procedure is not advisable as the hazards are different
e.g. toxic, corrosive, flammable when wet, irritant etc.
We always started with "identify the substance" then worked from there.

We already know the substances - these were detailed in the initial post. We don't know the quantities, and it may not be in relation to transport (where quantities are often large).
