Hi,
Can someone please point me in the direction of definitive guidance on the requirements for securing scaffold platform boards. I have seen NASC guidance on the methods of securing the boards, however nothing on when they such should be secured i.e. from months of Sept to March.

Boards blew off a scaffold recently and the scaffold contractor claims that boards don't need to be secured during summer months.

I appreciate that it will be subject to risk assessment, however there were some strong 'non summer' winds last week!

I am considering making it a standard requirement to secure the battens but would like some documented guidance on the legal and/or recommended requirements.

Thank you in advance.

Rob
