You could also download the HSE publications "HSE Human Factor Briefing Notes". Collectively there are a useful resource. PH2

A few others that I found useful (not all directly relevant but good information in all of them) - Changing Minds - A Practical Guide for Behavioural Change in the Oil & Gas Industry (the theory can be applied to any industry!) -Employee Involvement in Health and Safety: Some Examples of Good Practice (HSL) -Behavioural Safety - Kicking bad habits (IOSH)

The Marine and Coastguard Agency produced "The Human Element - A guide to human behaviour in the shipping industry" is an excellent document and many of the general topics can be applied to any walk of life. Link - http://www.standard-club...ocs/MCAGuidev1.0ae-2.pdf

I would recommend anything written by James Reason. He offers some very profound insights into the psychology of occupational safety and how it drives behaviour. One of my favorites is "Managing the Risks of Organizational Accidents." Another interesting read is "The Logic of Failure" by Dietrich Dorner.

I attended Professor Dominic Cooper's B-Safe training course last December and would recommend it to anybody interested in developing a BBS programme into their organisation. Regards, Mike
