Hi All,
We may be moving to Washington DC at the end of the year and I will be looking for employment in the H&S industry. At present I am employed as a H&S Consultant specialising in the construction industry. Can anyone who has experience in the US give me some advice on how to go about looking for employment / good recruitment agencies - anything really.

Have a look at www.asse.org. The site has some good information on it. I would join the local chapter as soon as you are able when you settle, as you likely know, things are not so good in the States job wise right now. I would be cautious of the recruitment agency route, it can be expensive and some of them are not so ethical... In a difficult market, anything you can do to improve your marketability will help. In the U.S., the BCSP (www.bcsp.org) offers construction industry OH&S designations that many American companies will be familar with, you may wish to explore that.
