Hello Has any one had an experience with applying for CHAS compliance as a 'care provider'? Experiences/pitfalls/tips welcome? We are an NHS Trust which we provide various services contracted out by our Local Authority. They have stipulated that all future service providers contractors must be CHAS compliant by 2012 before they can tender for contracts. Until I looked on the CHAS website I did not know you could apply as a 'care provider'. Your assistance is grateful.

Your area is no diferent to any other area and CHAS provideds a good platform. The one problem is that if U do not have it in place now / at the time of application this failure can hold up the process but such organisations should already have all such areas in place One of your main areas to address will be risk assessment etc for your staff / subbies e.g. taxi companies & the like as I am confident that your system will be geared to looking after the service users in the first instance re risk assessments etc as against staff and others so U may need to update in that area
