Not an area I have had much to do with in the past, but we have a considerable amount of workshop racking & shelving that is subject to inspection by contractors. Eack rack has the plate on with the appropriate details, weights, spacing etc. We have had a question posed about the shelving in our library. This is not covered by this inspection process, just inspection on the 6 monthly H&S Inspections of the workplace. I believe this is sufficient under PUWER because the shelving systems were supplied by a company that had designed them to meet any weight that could be applied. In this instance I take that to mean books. Am I right in this assumption as I see adding this to the list is somewhat "over the top"?
