Caught something yesterday morning about the Post Office deciding to close a post office on the grounds of 'health & safety' because the postmen were having to negotiate too many stairs to access the location. Another case methinks of someone using 'elf n' safety' to hide behind when making a decision. Easy target again, eh?
Anyway, your friend and mine Mr Littlejohn mentions it in his column today (scroll down to read).

Perhaps as well as the usual Forums IOSH should have one just for the Daily Mail.

As its Friday

Can think of a few ways to de-risk the Daily Mail - none are legal sadly!

I dunno, they probably would be if the Editor and readership had their way.

What’s de-risk?

De-risk is we haven’t read the first 2 sentences of the article
De-risk is that we spend another Friday discussing the Daily Mail!

Nuff said?

pete48, you are right by the way, the first two sentences sort of nullify the H&S angle. But, when this was first trumpeted yesterday morning (I seen it on a newspaper review on Sky News), believe me 'elf n' safety' was the reason quoted and that 'de-risk' thing was discussed/ laughed at by the people doing the newspaper reviews. And it is sad but true that another Friday has arrived and the DM is mentioned. I can't imagine a week going by now and the DM not being mentioned somewhere in the H&S fraternity.
