I was having a discussion with one of our Project managers and he made mention of a 'Working at Height - risk triangle'. Basically it is similar to Birds Triangle;
where if the risk is; 1 - then use a step ladder, 2 - use a podium, 3 - use a scaffold etc.
I have never come across this one before. I tried a google search but couldn't find anything. Are any of you aware that this exists ? If so, where can I find it ?

Adrian. I suspect this is some advisor's personal baby, and that he or she is trying to rewrite legislation!

Thanks, Peter.
I thought I'd first rather ask before dismissing it.

Never heard of it myself, Adrian. It just sounds like the hierarchy of measures for working at height. Avoid
Prevent
Protect
Or
Scaffold
Podium
Step Ladder

I don't think that anybody is trying to re-write legislation!!! And other than the fact that Bird used a triangle, I suggest that that is where any similarity ends.
I suspect that they are just trying to provide a piratical 'tool' for use when either considering, planning for or actually working at height.
I've used my own 'tools' for various things, and it certainly isn't intended to re-write legislation, just provide a practical tool, which most if not all legislation omits or doesn't even consider.

Oops - something like a gang plank maybe? Strangely enough, piratical is not picked up by the spell checker! I must try to find a (genuine) use for the word on the forum!!!!
Practical - of course!

As chance would have it Phil, this year's National "Talk Like a Pirate Day" is September 19th (Aaarr!! it be on Google, it be!)
Now that would make for an intersting way to deliver your next Toolbox talk!!
Only a matter of days then Phil, before that opportunity to use the word comes your way.
