Hi, I was wondering as to what would be the standard frequency of testing for equipment. The risk of damage based on frequency of use and working environment will obviously have a bearing. The equipment in question is generally power tools used in a plant workshop and portable process equipment used in a GPM environment.

Nooooooooo, I can feel the old PAT arguments coming on again. Sorry Walsh, yes, it is risk based and if you have a look on the HSE website there is some guidance there, and I think the IEE has some as well.
