Has anybody been told that wire brushes in enginering has both food safety issues and safety issues? What else do you use?

Removal of the component/assembly for reworking in a controlled environment where it will not be a food safety issue?

Eliminate by using the correct surface finish (ie stainless steel) in the first place, thus eliminating the wire brush requirements?
