Hello. We are about to have contractors on site due to building extension work. I am putting together a small HSE information pack (slides) for a pre-HSE Meeting in which I wish to highlight the dangers of going into areas barriered off. Basically I am trying to inform the employees that the barriers are for their own protection and should they enter the construction site then they are entering a dangerous environment. I recently read of the unfortunate deaths of 4 persons in a construction site some where in England where there was a collapse of ??? but I cannot remember if it was walls , scaffolding etc. Can any one point me in the right direction of this unforunate incident as I wish to include reference to it just to highlight it. From my recollection it was not all that long ago may be a few months back.... Regards TD

Hi TD I believe the tragic incident you are referring to occurred in January of this year. Four workers were killed in Great Yarmouth when structural steelwork apparently collapsed into the excavations in which working. The tragedy is still under investigation so there is not much more information that has been released as far as I am aware. However, if you use a well known search engine using the phrase Great Yarmouth Construction Accident, you will find a number of news stories on the incident.

Thanks Richp and Peter. This is the incident I was on about. I would have never guessed that it was way back in January. Regards TD
