I tried to get this information in a previous, related, thread without success so I thought I would try again under a new heading.
Can anyone tell me if there is a specific requirement to have a maintenance label attached to the extinguisher? Our estates department are planning to hold a central (electronic) record on servicing and remove the labels from the extinguishers as a result.

This is a BS requirement but I am not sure that there is a specific regulatory requirement. You will need to be able to assure any questioner that extinguisher and record can be precisely matched. For the time it takes I prefer labels to remain.

As a matter of interest the BS does require that the labels are not stuck over each other thus providing a full servicing history at a glance.
