Can anyone point me in the right direction for a small query..... Is there a legal requirement for lightening protection to be provided on a building that has recently been refurbished? Or is this a good/best practice? Thanks Pete

The need is generally based (can you guess??) on risk assessment. The well-known lightning protection company beginning with F used to publish an excellent booklet that had a risk assessment methodology which includes goegraphical location, local environment, height, vulnerability, and a few other variables. The Building Regs have section on the subject but still refer back to risk assessment. Insurers may have an opinion that could require you to fit and maintain as a condition of the policy.
