A lot of companies provide smartphones and as such put reliance on such technology. What about lone workers out on site, surveying, working by the roadside etc that rely on this technology to be able to keep in touch with their employer? How do companies manage around it when there is a failure? How many people have a Plan B?

I feel the response says that should the world come to an end because nobody can send a text message or an E Mail?
I think there vare far more important things to have plan Bs for rather than this.
Not being judgemental Allan just stating my opinion

Sorry, I have been out of the country (and intentionally away from my Company BB which I left at home) and am only now picking up this story.
My employers have a range of procedures - including crisis management plans- that rely heavily on BB phones. I was under the impression that calls could still be made. Is that the case? If so, I can't see communications to be problematic.
