Can anyone point me towards a drawing or the dimensions required to build a compliant reception desk please? I know the Equalities act and Part M of the Building regs, but I've seen some guidance specifically on receptions before, I just can't find it now.
Thanks

Hi,
BS 8300:2009 Design of Buildings and their Approaches to Meet the Needs of Disabled People - A Code of Practice may have the information you are looking for, unfortunately I do not have access to a copy to check.
regards
Sonia

One of the better documents I have come across is called Designing for Accessibility published by the Centre for Accessible Environments. This will give you diagrams and dimensions for a reception/counter amongst other things in terms of building design. You will have to pay for it, though it is not expensive.

Thanks Chas; just for everyone's information, a quick google has thrown up a free copy of this produced by basingstoke and Deane borough council. http://www.basingstoke.g...sibilityguideupdated.pdf
