Hi All,

Does anyone know if there is a british standard for external metal staircases? i.e inspection periods? etc (they are fire escape staircases)

Thanks for any help.

Cheers

Part B won't give you guidance on inspection; I'd put in place a visual inspection regime and call in a structural engineer if there are indications of rust or structural movement.

Found this from West Yorkshire F&RS which might help a little:

I never said it did give inspection guidance, it does however give pRovisions which should be met which then naturally follows that regular inspections must be in place to ensure the provisions
