I've read through my company's employer's liability insurance policy and there is a specific exclusion for driving, or getting in or out of vehicles. The work does involve a fair bit of long-distance driving, either in our own cars or being driven by another employee or the boss.

Should I be worried? Or is it the company that has the problem as employees could still claim for an accident but the company wouldn't be covered?

I am a little surprised to hear that an ELI policy would have such as exclusion, especially as driving on business or being driven (and therefore the need to get in and out of a vehicle) is an inherent aspect of almost all employers work.

On the other hand, I suppose that the reasoning might be that any such accident would be covered under the car insurance (assuming that they have business cover) rather than ELI.

For your peace of mind, you might want to ask your company secretary, insurance officer or whoever deals with this.
