I am in the process of implementing face fit testing for all our engineers that wear RPE when chasing out walls.

Can anybody PM me with details of organisations they have used previously to do these tests, the potential cost for getting 40 persons tested over 2 geographical areas (Midlands and South Wales)....and details of what cost the equipment would be for myself to get trained so that I can carry out the tests.

Also can anybody clarify what is meant by 'comfort' wearing of RPE?

Hi, i have just done the same thing this year! I have used Arco for our training and found them extremely accomodaiting - just give their main office in Hull a call and they will put you in touch with your nearest trainier. The cost is also reasonable at ~ £220 for 6 people. The training time is 20mins + a toolbox talk.
I have no idea how much or if it is possible to train yourself but i am sure they can help.

Hoppe this helps!

You can do the face fit testing yourself if you have some training...
I recently done a half day face fit train the trainer course with Phoenix Fit-Tesing Services Ltd, based in Preston, but will travel, (I'm in northumberland!)
Following the training and the purchase of a kit from Arco you can use the qualitative method to test all your employees.
Having a good range of different masks will help!
