Morning, Can anybody tell me if the CIEH Advanced Health & Safety Certificate level 4 is the same level qualification as the current NEBOSH General Certificate?

As the CIEH work closely with Ofqual and Sector Skills Councils, why not contact them directly and ask them where this qualification sits in relation to the NEBOSH general certificate?

The CIEH Advanced was replaced by a (slightly more detailed) Level 4 Award (the key word being recognisd by Ofqual is Award). There are 3 'depths' of Ofqual qualification - Awards, Certificates and Diplomas. So you can have a level 3,4 or 5 Award, Certifiate or Diploma. These are not to be confused with titles given to proprietory products on the market. Whoever is using the qualification to glean information about the holder needs to understand this (confusing) issue. Sorry if this confuses more - but that is where we are. As a glimmer of hope IOSH are engaging on the development of both UK and EU competency standards. Steve
