Can anyone advise me if it has been reccomended that under new RIDDOR when an employee is considered to be fit for work by the doctor after the qualifying period of RIDDOR, that the doctor should attach a reminder to the fit note, that if it was a work based accident the employer should notify the governing body and that it is a legal requirement to report under Riddor.

I am not aware that this is going to be the case and would think it highly unlikely. The duty is on the employer and a) we shouldn't need to be reminded b) I would think Dr's have enough to do c) using the new MED 3 the Dr CAN'T advise that someone is FIT, only that they AREN'T or that they MAY be fit d) the reporting period may have passed by days or even weeks/months after the person does return to work.
