is anyone out there using a database to manage there ladder logs - allowing users to log in and update the checks etc.? I am looking to developing something for work and was wondering if someone may have already done this through Access which would allow me to piggy-back on? Andrew Böber CMSIOH FRSPH FRGS

Please don't think I'm being personal and picky - but if you are going to use 'post nominal' letters after your name - at least get them in the right order Shouldn't it be CMIOSH, not CMSIOH!! See the recent discussion 'Designatory Letters' - if safety bods can't get them right, why should anybody else? or indeed use 'CoSHH', 'NEBOSH' etc after their names.

Hi Andrew, we don't use an electronic database, but we do use a paper based system that we got (bought) from a well known 'ladder store'. This works reasonably well for us as we don't have a significant amount of ladders.

And there I was thinking it was Guru who was on a mission! In Andrew's case, the CMSIOH letters are well deserved, they stand for: Climbing Mountains Safety Instructions Over-Hyped

Andrew I've sent you a PM with details of our ladder inspection system which has proven very popular since its launch.

I used an excel spread sheet to manage about one hundred ladders. OLD Sk00L I would offer a copy but it's a bit lame :) To get modern surely there must be an app that does it by now?
