Scenario - property maintenance organisation serving a largish (17,000 units) social landlord in terms of housing maintenance and repairs. Asbestos database exists which holds property data; contractor intends to telephone works order through to trades' operatives in order to achieve productivity gains so the procedure for handling asbestos information is being questioned (it used to be a printed copy). Has anyone out there got a working procedure which they would be prepared to share? Questions around when it is required to provide data as a matter of course have arisen compared to when that would be a nonsense, i.e. providing full data for a dripping tap or a door handle. I'm not looking for guidance on the regulations, but some practical examples of how organisations operating in this type of environment deal with the provision of information in a verbal means. Any thoughts on auditing and/or monitoring the process would be appreciated too. Thanks in advance.
